Lab Experience & Work Examples
During my employment at CU Anschutz, I worked on 7 different studies. The two that I played the largest part in were Ensemble, which consisted of researching the safety of a faster infusion rate of Ocrevus for patients with RRMS, and Home Infusion, where we created the first fully-remote drug study. I championed the use of Compass and TriNetX to chart review 900 patients, contact 300 patients, and enroll 113 patients into a single study. I created a way to seamlessly refer patient lab results to providers electronically to increase efficiency. I was the lead female EKG coordinator. I was selected as a research resident for the Children's Hospital of Colorado, where I conducted studies to look at a genetic implication of MS and ran the demyelinating disease pediatrics database.

Throughout my undergraduate education, I worked in Dr. Richard Mayer’s Lab for Research on Learning and Instruction. While under the direction of the PI, I helped run the study and analyze the data for two different human research experiments, which are published in the Journal of Educational Psychology under Dr. Richard Mayer and lead PI Jocelyn Parong. I executed virtual reality experiments, including the set up and administration of the VR exercises. I set up and ran the necessary EKG and EEG hardwares and softwares, utilizing BIOPAC Acqknowledge. In addition, I cleaned and analyzed the EKG, EEG, and psychological test data in to a coded excel sheet.
As an honors student, I was expected to conduct my own research. Under Dr. Michelle Brown, I explored two different types of field research studies. I implemented correct field research skills to qualitatively observe the migration habits of Santa Barbara waterfowl. In addition, I wrote a research proposal qualitatively and quantitatively observing the student population uniform and habit choice during different weather seasons to understand the effects weather has on university student population study choices.
My other personal research involves researching and writing a research proposal addressing the effects of MDMA on adolescent cognitive function. During my final quarter of UC Santa Barbara, under the guidance of Dr. James Roney and teaching assistant Sakura Arai, my team and I worked collaboratively on a research project involving altruistic behavior. Within this project I gained qualtrics, SPSS, and R skills. I went on to write a complete research paper explaining our findings received high marks in the class and on the paper.
