Employment Supplementary Questions Answered
What makes you a great candidate?
I strive to be a well rounded scholar and employee. I have experience in research, english, and education. I have utilized VR, SPSS, EKG, and EEG. I understand how to clean and analyze the data using SPSS, R, and excel. I have drafted multiple research proposals and can use referencing softwares easily. In my opinion, what sets me apart from other candidates, is my passion for my job. I am not afraid to ask questions and seek out extra training or independent education to succeed in my position. I am deadline driven, work well under pressure, and can collaborate efficiently. When put in to a group setting I have the ability to take charge and delegate or I can be a team player, depending on the need for guidance.

Define excellent customer service.
In order to provide excellent customer service, expectations need to be met and exceeded. It is our job to successfully iterate how important they are to us. It is also our job to help the patient/customer feel comfortable, by easing worries through positive demeanor and a warm personality. I have experience in customer service as a State Farm employee, where I would be sure to smile and stay calm to help calm those who were in the middle of an insurance claim for an uninhabitable home. I also have experience providing customer service to teenage students as a teacher. I believe my teaching job taught me the importance of professional boundaries with the parents of students, which is important when working in a patient/customer service industry.

What is your greatest strength?
I believe my greatest strengths include task prioritization, dedication, and my ability to ask for guidance. Task prioritization is important in any career and has helped me succeed academically. I was able to graduate from UC Santa Barbara in 3 years with honors while working a part time job as a teaching assistant and a part time job as a research assistant because of my task prioritization. This past year I enrolled in a psychology master's program, MFT/LPCC, and worked a full time (40+ hour week) job. I am very organized and dedicate myself to my tasks, taking care not to over stretch myself so that my work is successful. My dedication is clear in my work. I do not meet the minimums, but instead surpass them. When asked if I would step in to an 8th grade english classroom for the year, I prepared myself weeks in advance by asking coworkers for guidance and reading training materials. My dedication is shown in my ability to be prepared and ask for help, learning from my mistakes along the way.

Define teamwork.
Teamwork is cooperating to reach a shared goal, using effective problem solving and communication skills. Teams do not always agree on ideas, which is why it is important for the group members to create an environment where ideas can be freely shared without hostilities. I have worked in hostile environments before, often on group projects, and over came this by stepping up as a facilitator for the group, actively listening to the members and showing consideration for differing ideas. When people feel that they are heard, they will begin to listen to other ideas. In order to be a successful team, there needs to be successful team players who can be trusted to complete their task, participate, and are able to adapt to feedback.
